Her research interests are related to audiences and media consumption, social networks, participation and social media, media and digital literacy, gender and media.
João Pedro Baptista

Invited Assistant Teacher at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, researcher at LabCom and journalist. He studies the phenomenon of fake news and online disinformation, social media, the role of digital journalism and fact-checking in the new media ecosystem. The relationship between disinformation consumption and political and partisan identity and users' cognitive styles in social media, and the meanings of the left-right political dichotomy and the political categories of Portuguese parties are some of his main interests.
Luísa Torre

MediaTrust.Lab Research Fellow and PhD student in Communication Sciences at the University of Beira Interior. Her research interests are disinformation, social networks, journalism and power. Master’s in Communication Sciences from the University of Porto (Portugal), she worked as a multimedia journalist for about 10 years in local newsrooms in Brazil.

Assistant Professor at IADE - Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication of the European University and Visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Beira Interior. His research interests are related to journalism, new media, participation and political communication.

PhD student in Communication Sciences at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) with a thesis focused on the use of new technologies and mobile devices by citizens and the creation of collaborative information systems. She is responsible for Science Communication at LabCom (UBI). Master in Social Communication from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil (2018), with a dissertation on the use of amateur cameramen in the production of crime news. Graduated in Social Communication / journalism qualification from the Catholic University of Pernambuco, Brazil (2001). She worked as a journalist for more than 20 years in TV newsrooms in Brazil.
